Literal, by Joel Drapper, is a serious quality of life improvement for Ruby/Rails development. I know typing goes against alot of the Ruby ideologies, but this is just so much more effective than duck typing and really helps clarify a codebase. Joel also developed Phlex, which is a delight for many of the same reasons.
