Authn as proof of life
This comment on Hacker News is super interesting: using WebAuthn to authenticate page loads with biometrics (TouchID or FaceID) to ensure the request is from a real person. Does the future of the web require biometric proof of life? It’s a brilliant idea — very low friction but totally bot-proof (for now). In a world where licensing content exclusively to certain LLM vendors potentially surpasses advertising as the business model, it’s entirely conceivable that content-rich websites will resort to guaranteeing that they’re engaging with a real person.
